About Our Designer

When Artillerie's founder and designer, Barbara Hawatmeh, was growing up, she traveled to Europe in the summers, visiting Italian aunts who bestowed on her gifts of fine lingerie and accessories. These women instilled in her an appreciation for romantic elegance and a desire to treat precious things with care, and in 2009 these qualities shaped her approach as her Artillerie lingerie bags made their debut. As a practicing attorney who travels often, she understands the challenges of contemporary travel and how personal belongings can suffer through security checkpoints. With Artillerie, she has found a way to match modern functionality with Old-World charm.
